Rayell Grayson

Rayell Grayson, LCPC, CADC (she/her), is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Counselor, with a firm commitment to anti-racism and social justice advocacy. As a Black, cis, able-bodied, educated woman, Rayell's personal experiences have deeply influenced her passion for supporting marginalized communities and addressing the injustices prevalent in the world.

With a Master's of Arts degree in clinical counseling psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and over ten years of diverse experience, Rayell specializes in providing support to organizations making a commitment to liberation for all. She firmly believes that dismantling systemic injustices and promoting inclusivity are essential for healing and growth. Rayell's own experiences as a woman of color have heightened her understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities, driving her dedication to providing unwavering support and advocating for equitable mental health care.

Michelle Byrd LCPC

Michelle Byrd, MA, NCC, LCPC, is a seasoned therapist, revered trainer, and dedicated community advocate with two decades of experience in community and educational counseling. Holding a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health, Michelle leverages her expertise to run a successful private practice, addressing a broad spectrum of mental health needs.

In 2018, Michelle joined Chicago Compass Counseling amid a critical shift towards systemic anti-racism. As Lead Trainer, she elevates their training programs, effectively collaborating with leaders and staff and inspiring the next generation of change-makers. Known for her dynamic workshops, she ignites action and fosters transformative change in her attendees.

Raised on Chicago’s West Side, her commitment to her community runs deep. She extends her influence beyond her private practice, offering her expertise to the Wingspan Project and advocating for accessible services as a Commissioner of the Westside Expanded Mental Health Program’s Governing Board.

Michelle’s professional ethos emphasizes community service, reflected in her work with diverse audiences ranging from college faculty and students to leaders of health organizations and non-profit staff. Outside her professional commitments, she co-hosts weekly events with Headz Up Mental Clarity, relentlessly championing mental health awareness and striving to dismantle stigma.
